Theres a lot of thunderstorms out there but these are ways you can avoid being struck by lighting!
“If you're boating or swimming, get to land, get off the beach and find shelter immediately. Stay away from rivers, lakes and other bodies of water. Water is an excellent conductor of electricity and nearby lightning strikes often travel through it.”
“Whenever possible, take shelter in substantial, permanent, enclosed structures, such as reinforced buildings. Avoid unprotected gazebos, rain or picnic shelters, baseball dugouts and bleachers; these structures are often isolated and located in otherwise open areas, making them a target for lightning. Also, they're generally poorly anchored and can easily be uprooted and blown over by strong thunderstorm winds. Lastly, these structures offer little protection from large hail.”
“If you are in the woods, find an area protected by a low clump of trees. Never stand under a large tree in the open. Be aware of possible flooding in low-lying areas.”
“What To Do If Someone Is Struck By Lightning”
    • “Call for help. Medical attention is needed as quickly as possible. Get someone to call 911 or your local Emergency Medical Service (EMS). If you are in the Inner Canyon along one of the major Corridor trails (Bright Angel, South Kaibab and North Kaibab), have someone call on one of the emergency phones as soon as possible. You can find a table showing the locations of the emergency phones on The Corridor Trails page. Picking up the receiver will immediately connect you to the 911 dispatcher.”
    • “Give first aid. If breathing has stopped, begin rescue breathing. If the heart has stopped, a person trained in CPR should begin giving it. If the injured person has a pulse and is breathing, look and care for other possible injuries.”
    • “Check for burns. The injured person has been shocked and may be burned in two places: where they were struck and where the electricity left their body. Being struck by lightning can also cause nervous system damage, broken bones and loss of hearing or eyesight.”
“Important: People struck by lightning carry no electrical charge and can be helped without fear of being shocked.”

  2. Most recently in Waynesville
Adel- A devastating drought destroyed 15% of crops and putting wayneians in danger. The blame goes manly on the waynian, Waynefred. Waynefred is the leading administrator of the top meteorology team. And he claimed of absolute truth that it was going to rain all week. Do you recall?

Adel- Throughout the entire week there has been nothing but thunderstorms and chance of precipitation. The chance apparently was lower than expected. Waynefred had this to say…
“It’s not my fault if it rained or not it’s the earth not me. I have no control of what’s going on with nature. I just report what I think is right.”
The real question lies on “has he lied to get what he wants?”
Adel- This following month, before this “false” report and drought came. Waynefred was planning on retiring with a fulfilling 25 years under his belt. Upon retirement he was going to continue his average pay check and being the leading administrator of the top meteorology team it would be a lot of money. Some suspect that the meteorology team will elect that Waynefred lose the money he was expecting to receive. Is that right Rebecca?
Camera beams over to girl reporter Rebecca in front of the senate house
Rebecca- news of that have been going around lately. A lot of people are really upset about the situation. But it doesn’t just end here. There have been a few rumors going around that his behavior is very common. In fact Waynefred has being reporting false weather reports for the past 10 years. For example the huge typhoon that was going to hit the side of Waynesville this would have killed half of the population. Instead it just ended up being a small storm and large waves. Reporting to you live from, Rebecca Wave, W.A.N action news.
Adel- Thanks Rebecca it’s not just the reputation of this man one the line but the crops.
Dwade -“People could die from mass starvation why wouldn’t you tell us to protect our crops.” Says waynien Dwade a famer whose crops died.“How am I going to pay for the things that I need if I have no crops?”
Adel- that’s our show for tonight thanks this it W.A.N action news
